Inquiry:Linux installation problem

Dear All
Can you please do me favor and let me know what is the problem with my Linux
installation as it does not progress on my pc and just stops on the
following lines ?
"boot: text
Loading initrd.img
Loading vmlinuz ........... ready.
Uncompressing Linux .. Ok, booting the kernel.
"
