Hello I'm currently having problems updating Lenny from ftp.us.debian.org. It seems one of the mirrors has stale information for its Release and Release.gpg file:
Sometimes when I connect with a browser I get this: Index of /debian/dists/lenny Name Last modified Size Parent Directory - contrib/ 20-Feb-2008 06:16 - main/ 13-Aug-2008 12:41 - non-free/ 20-Feb-2008 06:16 - ChangeLog 27-Jun-2009 16:36 1.4M Contents-alpha.gz 15-Aug-2009 12:55 13M Contents-amd64.gz 15-Aug-2009 13:02 13M Contents-arm.gz 15-Aug-2009 13:35 13M Contents-armel.gz 15-Aug-2009 13:40 13M Contents-hppa.gz 15-Aug-2009 13:47 13M Contents-i386.gz 15-Aug-2009 13:52 13M Contents-ia64.gz 15-Aug-2009 13:58 13M Contents-mips.gz 15-Aug-2009 14:04 13M Contents-mipsel.gz 15-Aug-2009 14:11 13M Contents-powerpc.gz 15-Aug-2009 14:18 13M Contents-s390.gz 15-Aug-2009 14:24 13M Contents-sparc.gz 15-Aug-2009 14:31 13M Contents-udeb-nf.gz 12-Aug-2009 14:55 680 Contents-udeb.gz 27-Jun-2009 17:02 43K Release 27-Jun-2009 18:18 72K <------------ Release.gpg 27-Jun-2009 18:27 1.0K <------------ Sometimes after hitting ctrl-F5 the browser connects to a site that identifies itself as the Oregon State Open Source Lab, which has newer files: [DIR] Parent Directory - [TXT] ChangeLog 27-Jun-2009 16:36 1.4M [ ] Contents-alpha.gz 15-Aug-2009 12:55 13M [ ] Contents-amd64.gz 15-Aug-2009 13:02 13M [ ] Contents-arm.gz 15-Aug-2009 13:35 13M [ ] Contents-armel.gz 15-Aug-2009 13:40 13M [ ] Contents-hppa.gz 15-Aug-2009 13:47 13M [ ] Contents-i386.gz 15-Aug-2009 13:52 13M [ ] Contents-ia64.gz 15-Aug-2009 13:58 13M [ ] Contents-mips.gz 15-Aug-2009 14:04 13M [ ] Contents-mipsel.gz 15-Aug-2009 14:11 13M [ ] Contents-powerpc.gz 15-Aug-2009 14:18 13M [ ] Contents-s390.gz 15-Aug-2009 14:24 13M [ ] Contents-sparc.gz 15-Aug-2009 14:31 13M [ ] Contents-udeb-nf.gz 12-Aug-2009 14:55 680 [ ] Contents-udeb.gz 27-Jun-2009 17:02 43K [ ] Release 15-Aug-2009 14:41 72K <------ [ ] Release.gpg 15-Aug-2009 14:46 1.0K <------ [DIR] contrib/ 20-Feb-2008 06:16 - [DIR] main/ 13-Aug-2008 12:41 - [DIR] non-free/ 20-Feb-2008 06:16 - Our current problem is that apt-mirror downloaded the Release file from one site and Release.gpg from another, so obviously the signature check fails and all packages are not authenticated. Checking ftp.us.debian.org with dig says ;; ANSWER SECTION: ftp.us.debian.org. 300 IN A 128.30.2.36 ftp.us.debian.org. 300 IN A 149.20.20.135 ftp.us.debian.org. 300 IN A 35.9.37.225 ftp.us.debian.org. 300 IN A 64.50.236.52 We've fixed this by manually using ctrl-F5 from a browser until our proxy cached the right Release file, but that is less than ideal. Are we getting old DNS information or are the mirrors out of sync? Thanks David Leon -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
