Yeah, one of the disks in my RAID-1 has failed, that's why I'm getting two new WD5002ABYS disks to replace both of them tomorrow. They are 4 or 5 years old and the other one could fail any time and I don't have a way to make a backup. I'm turning off the comp after writing this mail ... Anyway, getting the new disks brings up the question which file system to use. It seems you can convert ext3 to ext4 later, so I'm thinking of using ext3 for now and maybe converting later. On the first glance, there doesn't seem to be a disadvantage with doing it this way. Once the new disks are installed, I can use the remaining old one to make backups.
