Ah, so the MTU should be a non issue. > > And after having to reboot constantly for weeks, I purchashed > > a PC Engines Wrap board, loaded up some M0n0wall firewall software and > > never looked back. > > If I'm looking at the correct site it looks to be discontinued and not a > wireless device. http://www.pcengines.ch/wrap.htm My mistake. The WRAP has been replaced with the Alix series boards. Some updated features but essentialy the same. m0n0wall is supported on the Alix. See: http://www.pcengines.ch/alix2.htm I like these single board computers for their versatility and their "recycle" factor as well. I currently use a Alix 2d2 as a dedicated music server. When time come to replace (if ever) the WRAP as a router, I can always find some other use (home automation? NTP server? ham radio related like packet?) for it is x86 based. You can go about adding wireless via two methods: Add a mini-PCI wireless card, pigtail, antenna to the Alix and enable wireless via m0n0wall. Or, you could just use your existing Netgear router as a dedicated wireless AP (turn off DHCP). When I was ready to go wireless I found it much cheaper to buy a used Linksys wireless router locally from Craigslist for $15 USD. I can also use the ethernets ports as a regular switch for wired devices. Please check out the m0n0wall software. All web based config with tons of cool features. http://m0n0.ch/wall/ Runs on generic x86 pc's as well. But the WRAP and Alix are super efficent at 5 watts load. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact listmas...@lists.debian.org
