I fully recommend stupwm, but I would like to say it's not nearly as stable as, for instance, dwm or wmii. Just an example: I have just tried to use nxclient under it, stumpwm popped up lots of errors and now each window appears twice or thrice in the window list. And it has already happened several times, with different programs.
