FWIW, it seems to work just fine, even RAID1 across usb-storage drives -- which do spin down despite the ext3 filesystem on them. But they're mounted as /store, and there's nothing writing there. This is with a lenny system and 2.6.26 kernel. If you are trying to make it work for the main system, make sure you use something like laptop-mode, or at least tune the parameters, disable logging etc., and turn the atime option off for all your filesystems. -- .''`. martin f. krafft <madd...@d.o> Related projects: : :' : proud Debian developer http://debiansystem.info `. `'` http://people.debian.org/~madduck http://vcs-pkg.org `- Debian - when you have better things to do than fixing systems "in the figure of the president, george w. bush, the incompetence, stupidity, and sheer inhumanity that characterize so much of america's money-mad corporate elite find their quintessentially repulsive expression." -- journalist, aftermath of katrina
