Also, not a fix, but I recall having a lot of trouble with Lenny install disks back when Lenny was still in testing. I would discount very much the significance of trouble with a disk from that era. Also, traditionally, install disk are one of the last things to be gotten working proir to release, and Squeeze is not about to be released, I think.
