Well you havn't quoted what info you were given. That aside, ntp uses port 123 UDP, so make sure it's open, outgoing to the Internet. Alternatively, if you have ntpdate installed, it will use an alternative port with the following command as root. ntpdate -u ntp.obspm.fr Just change the server name "ntp.obspm.fr" for one of yours.
