Trouble? Contact > listmas...@lists.debian.org > > Hello Santhosh, Which version of Red Hat did you install? 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3? Most of the red hat 5 versions don't have the latest drivers for the newest Laptops, PCs, etc. If you just bought that Sony Vaio or is a recent model, perhaps it would be easier to install Linux using Ubuntu, which has a more updated driver database and it's based on Debian. Here you can download Ubuntu: http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download Nevertheless someone already pointed these URLs where you can download Debian Lenny without a hassle: http://www.debian.org/distrib/ Direct link, DVD version: AMD64(if your laptop has more than 3GB of RAM): http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/5.0.0/amd64/iso-dvd/ i386(if your laptop has less than 3GB of RAM): http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/5.0.0/i386/iso-dvd/ There is also a CD version <http://www.debian.org/CD/http-ftp/> of debian but I personally recommend you to download the DVD version depending your laptop's RAM(which I already explained before) which is easier for a newbie to install.
