Your document definitely helped a lot in understanding fonts in debain. So now I tried configuring my fonts using fontconfig, which I assume means configuration through fonts.conf. So I have the following ~/.fonts.conf: <?xml version="1.0"?> <!DOCTYPE fontconfig SYSTEM "fonts.dtd"> <!-- /etc/fonts/fonts.conf file to configure system font access --> <fontconfig> <dir>/home/amitu/.fonts</dir> </fontconfig> But urxvt still can't seem to use the Dina font which is located in ~/.fonts.
