I have never had a problem with network manager after the Ubuntu 7.10 release. No problems in Debian; no problems in Ubuntu. I am not sure why there is so much hate against it. Maybe I am that lucky user for this package. ;-) Still, I have never heard of wicd and I have to admit it looks pretty good. There are certainly a few options that I wish network-manager had. Do you use it? Or did you just stumble across it? I am contemplating installing it on my dev box when I get home...
