Greetings,

I have a xorg crashing when launching any opengl apps (a video in vlc or a
game). Here is what changed to have this behaviour :

I have a Radeon Mobility X1600 which uses the r500 chipset. I saw in the
radeonhd changelog that version 1.2.2 now supports DRI for r500 and r600
readon chipsets. So I looked in experimental if this version was packaged. It
seems not but on the PTS
http://packages.qa.debian.org/x/xserver-xorg-video-radeonhd/news/20081019T194709Z.html

it shows it has been uploaded.

So I downloaded the .dsc, .diff.gz and .orig.gz on the archive
(ftp.fr.debian.org mirror) and tried to make has apt-get source do
(installing by hand all build dependencies, applying diff.gz and then
dpkg-buildpackage) because apt-get -t experimental (build-dep|source -b)
didn't worked.

Except the signature of the package, all worked and to install the
corresponding deb I had to install xorg from experimental. Everything goes
well, and glxinfo | grep render tells me I have Direct Rendering. So I tried
to launch Extreme Tux Racer and my xorg crashed. I tried with briquolo and
vlc and each time it crashed.

I'd like to know if you experienced same things with same driver *and* other
drivers. If you do experience the same problem, then I'd like to disable the
loading of dri in xorg but unfortunetely neither commenting Load dri (because
now xorg know what to load without telling him) nor replacing Load dri by
Disable dri works.

I hope you'll be able to help me.

Thanks by advance.
