Wow, that can be very cryptic if you don't know aptitude, and yet I smile at the beauty of it. It is that simple. I would also suggest to alias apt-get commands to aptitude. So that "apt- get install foo" will be executed as "aptitude install foo". Aptitude does a better job at handling dependencies and orphans than apt-get, even though it has not been granted Super Cow Powers. > aptitude rocks !
