It seems you have found the GPRS modem and NOT the UMTS modem. GSM hardware have generaly three devices: 1) Audio-Codec 2) 1st Serial port for Vocie/SMS/GPRS/EDGE control/Data 3) 2nd Serial port for UMTS/HSDPA If your UMTS Dongle does only support ONE serial port, you have to setup an AT-Comand to switch it into the UMTS/HSDPA mode...
