Folk,

fetchmail works well and I have no need for fetchmailconf.
Nevertheless it exists in a broken state in this system.
"dpkg --remove fetchmailconf" recommends reinstallation
prior to removal. So I get this.

joule:/home/peter# apt-get install --reinstall fetchmailconf

Reading package lists...
Building dependency tree...
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 1 reinstalled, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
1 not fully installed or removed.
Need to get 0B/61.6kB of archives.
After unpacking 0B of additional disk space will be used.
Do you want to continue [Y/n]? (Reading database ... 76934 files and
directories currently installed.)
Preparing to replace fetchmailconf 6.3.6-1etch1 (using
.../fetchmailconf_6.3.6-1etch1_all.deb) ...
pycentral: pycentral pkgremove: package fetchmailconf is not installed
pycentral: pycentral pkgremove: package fetchmailconf is not installed
pycentral: pycentral pkginstall: package fetchmailconf is not installed

How can such a conundrum be resolved?

Thanks, ... Peter E.
