Please go into your zenoss-X-Y-Z/ directory and send the output of find |sort which will list ALL directories and files in it... I have build over 700 different packages privately in the last four years as "Debian GNU/Linux Consultant" and never goten such error. Your package schould be something like: ----8<-------------------------- zenoss-X-Y-Z/debian/control rules preinst prerm postinst postrm COPYING README src.c src.h Makefile configure ----8<-------------------------- and then after configuring debian/rules you schoud use dpkg-buildpackage the get things right.
