Greetings-

Setting up my new laptop, a Lenovo Thinkpad X61 Tablet PC, and I am trying to make the screen rotate 90 degrees right for tablet use. This crashes the display, as is documented many other places, but none of the suggestions found via google have fixed the problem.

Kernel is 2.6.24.2; video is intel, x.org from debian testing. The problem happens whehter I use the intel or the i810 driver. Using xrandr or the Gnome screen rotation applet, the X server simply dies leaving a black screen. ctrl-alt-backspace returns me to gdm and I can re-login, but the screen does not rotate.

Any advice?

Thanks.
