Hi.

I am running testing with kernel: 2.6.22-3-686.

For a couple of month I have experienced continuous segmentation faults
with Mplayer, Xine, VLC and XMMS. I get segmentation fault every time I
try to use them.

To be on the safe side I have diagnosed my memory, but have found no
errors.

Now, before I wipe my installation and revert back to stable, I would
like to know if perhaps I am missing something.

If I run strace on Mplayer, I get the following input/output error:

$ strace mplayer

<snip>
munmap(0xb7f2f000, 92099)               = 0
set_tid_address(0xb602c918)             = 10033
sendto(-1241331424, umovestr: Input/output error
0xc, 3084759028, MSG_PROXY|MSG_EOR|MSG_DONTWAIT|MSG_CONFIRM|
MSG_NOSIGNAL|MSG_MORE|0xb6020000, NULL, 3215100320) = 0 futex
(0xbfa28990, 0x81 /* FUTEX_??? */, 1) = 0
</snip>

Doing a strace on the other packages I get different errors.

$ strace xmms

lstat64("/etc/gtk/gtkrc.da.utf8", 0xbf83a4c4) = -1 ENOENT (No such file
or directory) lstat64("/etc/gtk/gtkrc.da.utf-8", 0xbf83a4c4) = -1
ENOENT (No such file or directory) lstat64("/etc/gtk/gtkrc.da_DK.utf8",
0xbf83a4c4) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory) lstat64
("/etc/gtk/gtkrc.da_DK.utf-8", 0xbf83a4c4) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or
directory) lstat64("/etc/gtk/gtkrc", 0xbf83a4c4)   = -1 ENOENT (No such
file or directory)

Any advice?

Best regards.
