Apparently they draw quite a bit more current (like an order of magnitude) than a modern keyboard. Many ps/2-usb adapters are dumb devices and don't properly handle this. There are several that do. That may well be the source of the problem. Clicky keyboards sells one and there are references I think to other brands known to work. A
