Over the internet? You may tunnel almost everything through SSH. I don't
care very much about these things in my local network, though.

Disable Javascript when you don't need it, throw away cookies you don't
want.
BTW, faking your MAC address will not help you at all. The only systems
who can see it from the outside belong to your provider who already
knows who you are.
