A hundred times. It says ALSA is ready to use, and wishes me a lot of fun. As long as it's happy... In fact the link given earlier in the thread to http://newbiedoc.berlios.de/wiki/Sound_in_Debian_GNU/Linux says: Alsaconf is so buggy that it is best not to use it at the moment (according to [bug no 432678]). You now have to use udevtrigger instead of alsaconf. But that did nothing useful either as far as I could tell.
