And there si a question , how to get k7 (or k8) kernel for the newest kernel 2.6.23.1 ? btw I use own - compiled kernel , but here are results of search for k7 in Debian SID repositoires http://pastie.caboo.se/109590 And there is no k8 in use , probably.
