Drivers (usually?) have to be compiled against particular kernels; this
requires (at least some) of the kernel source code.  Sometimes the
kernel headers are enough, but sometimes the entire source is
required.  I'm not familiar with eagle, but it apparently can be built
with module-assistant, so just do 'm-a prepare; m-a a-i' and it will
tell you what you need.
