Ok... so I tried both the "eggtimer" tcl script, and "sanduhr"...
eggtimer loses immediately because it only has a 1-minute resolution. Further, there's no countdown, or indication that you're going to get an alarm.. the dialog box just stays the same until the time's elapsed. "sanduhr" is a little bit more advanced, and very nice and unobtrustive... The countdown indicator is a cute graphic of an hourglass slowly filling up. Unfortunately, I really want a digital readout.
