sorry - just what does that add to the issue? I'm not intersted in Xinerama or html pages...
Also, in the debian reference manual, at http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/reference/ch-tune.en.html#s-xsrvr, it refers to xserver-common-v3 (I think I need this as I have an old matrox card)- I can find no such package in etch - is the ref manual out of

That's a 4 Mb PCI card.  Works fine with Version: 1:7.1.0-19 (Etch).
For some Matrox cards, you may be better off trying the generic vesa
svga server.
