I have a problem with 'apt-get update' command and it
bugs me for weeks. I've tried to update Debian with

It doesn't help me at all. I've tried apt-setup and
it failed as well with the same message such as
'Failed to fetch'. Any help is appreciated.
<snip apt output>
My Debian sources.list file is:
#deb file:///cdrom/ sarge main
deb http://debian.yorku.ca/debian/ sarge main contrib
non-free
deb-src http://debian.yorku.ca/debian/ sarge main
deb http://security.debian.org/ sarge/updates main
contrib non-free
#deb http://http.us.debian.org/debian stable main
contrib
#deb http://security.debian.org stable/updates main
contrib non-free
try replacing sarge with oldstable, that should fix that up for ya.
