The BSDs have pkg_add et. al. that fuction like apt-get et.al. I haven't seen anything like aptitude's interactive. Of course the details differ, but they do have commands that will either download and install a pre-compiled binary (some call it a package, others a port) or will download the sources, compile it, and install it with just the one command.
