If anyone is still having trouble with this issue, here's how I just resolved it:
# dpkg -r --force_all passwd # aptitude install passwd
From there I was able to proceed with upgrading without any trouble.
--To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
