Hi, y'all! Same freeze here with ASUS P5PE and 2.6.21-2-686 I thought at first that KDE 3.5.7 was the culprit. But the system freezes even with kdm just sittingin on the logon screen, the machine doing nothing. Last message I got was "disabling IRQ #16" when I happenend to be on the logon prompt of tty2. Nobody logged in, the computer being idle. Yes, it seems to be a kernel problem. lxcl01:~# lspci 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation 82865G/PE/P DRAM Controller/Host-Hub Interface (rev 02) 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82865G Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02) 00:1d.0 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801EB/ER (ICH5/ICH5R) USB UHCI Controller #1 (rev 02) 00:1d.1 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801EB/ER (ICH5/ICH5R) USB UHCI Controller #2 (rev 02) 00:1d.2 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801EB/ER (ICH5/ICH5R) USB UHCI Controller #3 (rev 02) 00:1d.3 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801EB/ER (ICH5/ICH5R) USB UHCI Controller #4 (rev 02) 00:1d.7 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801EB/ER (ICH5/ICH5R) USB2 EHCI Controller (rev 02) 00:1e.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801 PCI Bridge (rev c2) 00:1f.0 ISA bridge: Intel Corporation 82801EB/ER (ICH5/ICH5R) LPC Interface Bridge (rev 02) 00:1f.1 IDE interface: Intel Corporation 82801EB/ER (ICH5/ICH5R) IDE Controller (rev 02) 00:1f.5 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corporation 82801EB/ER (ICH5/ICH5R) AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 02) 01:0b.0 SCSI storage controller: Adaptec AHA-2940U/UW/D / AIC-7881U 01:0d.0 Ethernet controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88E8001 Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 13) part of lxcl01:~# hwinfo |grep -i irq 0: uart:16550A port:000003F8 irq:4 tx:135 rx:7 brk:7 RTS|CTS|DTR 1: uart:unknown port:000002F8 irq:3 2: uart:unknown port:000003E8 irq:4 3: uart:unknown port:000002E8 irq:3 uart 16550A, line 0, port 0x3f8, irq 4, baud 0 irq:1 0 ( 85) "timer" irq:0 1 ( 848) "i8042" irq:1 4 ( 46) "serial" irq:1 6 ( 5) "floppy" irq:1 8 ( 1) "rtc" irq:0 9 ( 1) "acpi" irq:0 12 ( 3899) "i8042" irq:0 16 ( 26755) "ehci_hcd:usb1" "eth0" irq:0 17 ( 29) "uhci_hcd:usb2" "uhci_hcd:usb5" irq:0 18 ( 0) "uhci_hcd:usb3" irq:2 19 ( 2404840) "uhci_hcd:usb4" "ide0" "ide1" irq:0 20 ( 184) "aic7xxx" irq:0 21 ( 6304) "Intel ICH5" used irqs: 0,1,4,6,8,9,10,12,16,17,18,19,20,21 IRQ: 0 (85 events) IRQ: 8 (1 event) IRQ: 6 (5 events) IRQ: 10 (no events) IRQ: 17 (29 events) IRQ: 18 (no events) IRQ: 19 (2404840 events) IRQ: 17 (29 events) IRQ: 16 (26755 events) IRQ: 19 (2404840 events) IRQ: 21 (6304 events) IRQ: 20 (184 events) IRQ: 16 (26755 events) IRQ: 4 (46 events) Cheers (or not so cheery), Eike -- Eike Lantzsch ZP6CGE Casilla de Correo 1519 1209 Asuncion / Paraguay -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
