Thanks. I have a DRW-1814BLT from ASUS, which is a SATA connection. It is a DVD reader/recorder. For what it's worth I have just tried to install from the first CD of the Testing dist (assembled by Jigdo), although I now got a rather long list of CDROM drivers, none of them did the trick.
