Of course you can add new perl modules that are not available in Debian by means of pre packaged .deb-files. You have to ways of doing this, and I won't go into who is best. Personal preference comes to mind here. You can either use CPAN to install the required modules needed, or you can use the Debian package 'dh-make-perl'.
