See the output of glxinfo for a line saying:
direct rendering: Yes
or so.
glxinfo is in the package mesa-utils.
I commented the DRI in the modules section of xorg.conf and restarted
X but the freeze still happened as soon as I switched to console for 2
minutes and back.
