The more important question is: "Why has the cable been melt?"

The typical scenario is that a cable melts, because it gets an over
current, because something else is broken. If this would be the case
with you, than getting a new cable might just mean another cable will be
toasted.

You might want to investigate this further. Does the laptop work, ie. is
it just the display that is not working or are other parts affected as
well?
