grep SYSRQ /boot/config-$(uname -r) and it outputs CONFIG_MAGIC_SYSRQ=y so i guess the option is compiled in my kernel also. I find this useful when I'm runing windoze games via cedega, when the system freezes, some times I'm able to switch to another tty and end the process but it happens the it can hard freeze and in that case the only way to unmount my file systems is with sysrq.
