You guys looking for this sort of solution should be careful what you ask for. You're asking the listmasters for fundamental changes to how the list(s) work. I think it would be far better for everyone if we fixed it ourselves through self-control and peer pressure. An off-topic post or two isn't a problem, but past a certain point, out of consideration for those who're paying by the byte and those who've limited time, offenders should be encouraged to stop or take it elsewhere. I'm glad Joey weighed in on this and got this discussion going and I'm sorry he had to, but I'd rather not see heavy-handed solutions which might distort, or destroy, the list(s). $DEITY knows we've enough monsters out there to fight with.
