Just wondering on which platform/vmware version you tried: I have installed etch from the netiso-image in workstation 6 beta on a desktop (Pentium D) and have the vm-image running under a current version of vmware server on a pentium m laptop and under workstation 5.5 on an amd64 (athlon 4500+) desktop. On the application level I have observed some odd behavior on the laptop, bit no further issues and nothing along the lines that you describe. > > Anyone has any idea on why this is happening.
