had kdm in when I did the apt-get above; icewm was in the kdm selections; icewm worked; I still had this stuff from kde running when I did a "ps axj" from an xterm in icewm 1 311 311 311 ? -1 S 1000 0:00 kdeinit: Running... 1 314 311 311 ? -1 S 1000 0:00 kdeinit: dcopserver --n 1 317 311 311 ? -1 S 1000 0:00 kdeinit: klauncher 1 320 311 311 ? -1 S 1000 0:00 kdeinit: kded Maybe it's just kdm stuff. Your advice got me going in the right direction. Now I have to learn Mutt so I can ditch KMail. One thing I couldn't figure though...icewm did not show up with gdm, and xdm only launches KDE. I did a man xdm and was blown away by TMI. I might need a good X windows text to get a good handle on all this stuff. -- Mike Mueller -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
