Hi,

Presently I have the Following Kernel Image Installed on a

Dual-Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 2210

Machine. It detects both CPu's

================================================================================

# uname -a
Linux websrv-1 2.6.18-4-amd64 #1 SMP Mon Mar 26 11:36:53 CEST 2007
x86_64 GNU/Linux

# dpkg -l |grep kernel
ii  linux-image-2.6-amd64             2.6.18+6
Linux kernel 2.6 image on AMD64
ii  module-init-tools                 3.3-pre4-2

How ever I find there is a Kernel image specifically named SMP.

===========================================================================
websrv-1:~# apt-cache search kernel-image | grep amd64
kernel-image-2.6-amd64-generic - Linux kernel image for version 2.6 on
generic x86_64 systems - transition package
kernel-image-2.6-amd64-k8 - Linux kernel image for version 2.6 on
AMD64 systems - transition package
kernel-image-2.6-amd64-k8-smp - Linux kernel image for version 2.6 on
AMD64 SMP systems - transition package
============================================================================

Should I migrate to "kernel-image-2.6-amd64-k8-smp " for better perfomance?
