As of about a year ago, extremely poor. I was looking for scriptable
OCR, and couldn't find anything Open Source that was even barely
usable with large, clear characters. While personal OCR on Windows
was a reasonable price, once it was scriptable the price increased
by more than an order of magnitude per user.
Mass corporate and government document processing, no real small-scale
use, so silly prices and no OS stuff.
