Personally, I just use seamonkey??.tar.gz from mozilla.org, as seamonkey's extension functions is not very mature now and many of exensions need to put something into app directory. To avoid confusion, use ~/seamonkey/seamonkey -P seamonkey to run it after extracting seamonkey-???.linux-i686.tar.gz to $HOME(tar xvf).
