A few minutes of googling found this very useful tip. If you want Konqueror to open shell scripts in an editor instead of running them (usually in the background, which isn't usually very useful), just add the x-shellscript MIME type to the text group in Konqueror's file association settings. You can copy the details from the one in the application group. Then put your favorite editor at the top, and from now on, when you double-click one in Konqueror, it will open in your editor instead of running it. Saves some clicks from right-click->open with...
