Works here on sarge. 

You may want to try adding the following lines to your .bashrc:

    if [ -f /etc/bash_completion ]; then
      . /etc/bash_completion
    fi

Also, note that if there is more than one match you need to press <TAB>
a second time to display a list of matching files.
