I am reminded of some sci-fi story, I don't remember who what where or when but... as a part of the tourist appeal of New York City, the residents maintained the "grid-lock" situation that had developed by working in their cars. Every morning they would kiss their families good bye, pick up their lunch sack and head out to their car to sit and honk all day long while gesturing out the window and yelling at the car in front of them.
