He wants to run KDE-based applets, such as the KDE system tray, clock, Volume control, etc in a Gnome panel. As far as I know, you can't really do this. A similar discussion here (http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-142204.html) suggests using a gnome gdesklet called prayertime. Gdesklets are similar to Mac Widgets. They sit on your desktop and look pretty while doing something of varying usefulness. Run 'apt-get install gdesklets gdesklets-data' and then run gdesklets. You'll need to configure it to use whichever gdesklet you want. In Debian Sarge, you can try both praytime and prayboard. This will not be quite what you wanted, a way to use your KDE applet in GNOME.
