I am attaching the actual error message I am getting when I try to run an example of Geant4. Geant4 is throwing this error message instead of opening a OpenGL window. *************Error**************** Idle> /vis/open OGLIX G4OpenGLViewer::G4OpenGLViewer couldn't open display. G4OpenGLImmediateX::CreateViewer: error flagged by negative view id in G4OpenGLImmediateXViewer creation. Destroying view and returning null pointer. ERROR in G4VisManager::CreateViewer during OpenGLImmediateX viewer creation. No action taken. WARNING: No viewer created. *********************************** > With the X.org transition, /usr/X11R6 essentially went away and > everything moved under /usr as prescribed by the FHS. In that case as Geant4 will search for the files under /usr/X11R6, should I copy/move files from /usr to /usr/X11R6 or is there any work around for this problem. I figured out that First, the x86_64 is properly called amd64 (they were the original creators of it, Intel only made up that em64t nonsense as a marketing ploy to keep it from looking like they had egg on their face over being second to market and not as good). > OpenGL libraries installation is incomplete on my system.
