You don't need to do
$ mv ~/.mozilla/iceweasel ~/.mozilla/iceweasel.hold

as it is a clean profile and can be created any time you want. You can
just remove it and mv the firefox profile to iceweasel with the second
command. But I don't think there have been any chances to profile
structure that will make it unusable. So yes, it will work.
