I was thinking of this bug, were some users reported that gnome-screensaver didn't deactivate after mouse/keyboard input. But I'm not sure if it's the same problem you're having. http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=347367 I also found this from the NEWS file, this is from gnome-screensaver version 2.16, currently in experimental. * Make the unlock dialog show on correct window under Xinerama It would be great if you could file a bug, and possibly try the version from experimental, but it needs GTK 2.10 and a whole lot of other upgrades. > > > Shouldnt restarting X be password-secured > > > if the computer is locked? > > I suggest you use the DontZap option and disable this in X. > > Hm, is it really so? I personally always turn off Zap as I sometimes press that key sequence by mistake. If you think it should be used by default I suggest you file a wishlist bug for the X server. I'm not sure if it's possible to turn it on/off during run time. -- Cheers, Sven Arvidsson http://www.whiz.se PGP Key ID 760BDD22
