Thanks for the tip Andrei.  I bet that copying the entire /home/joe to
/root would keep all of my settings intact, but I want to avoid being
root as much as possible and doing that is just more likely to tempt me
to use it more often.

Therefore, I seldom use Konqueror in root mode because I can just click
on Actions->Edit as Root from a normal session.  The only reason I use
root is so I can do some file operations that are just simpler than
using the command line.  Specifically copying my videos from a backup HD
to the main.  I find it simpler just to let Konqueror copy the 171
movies, then use a chmod to fix the permissions.  It took 2 hours to
copy, (24.3 MB/s).

I'm sure a cp would work just as well, but I like the "Auto Skip" that
Konqueror does, not to mention I can track the progress.
