When I was last in the States I picked up a copy of Writer's Market. It's old now (2004 edition). From all of the agents and publishers listed therein, only a very few will accept new authors and even fewer still will deal over the internet. Publish America offered to publish my first book, but a little bit of research on the company led me to believe that they were not a very reputable company and I declined to sign a contract. I have not really bothered trying very hard to sell my stories, I am a writer, not someone who is into marketing. Thanks for the tips. Perhaps someday I will become more aggressive. I'm sure if I can find agents that will deal over the net, I can find someone to publish. I could go the POD route, but then, like you said, theirs a stigma attached to that. Short stories might be just the answer. I'll have to come up with some ideas. However, the problem with me is if I come out with an outline for a basic story, it turns into a full length novel by the time I am finished with it.
