Hi,
if I want to login remotely I have to enter the root password 2 times. It
asks the password again after the first time.
Why does it accept the same password at the second time?

Another problem with my new DLT VS80, it is connected to an Adaptec
Controller :

SCSI subsystem driver Revision: 1.00
scsi0 : Adaptec AIC7XXX EISA/VLB/PCI SCSI HBA DRIVER, Rev 6.2.4
        <Adaptec 29160B Ultra160 SCSI adapter>
        aic7892: Ultra160 Wide Channel A, SCSI Id=7, 32/253 SCBs

mt -f /dev/st0 status
mt: /dev/st0: No such device

I cannot see any Sequential-Access Device within /proc/scsi/scsi .

What could be the problem?

Kernel 2.4.18 , woody 3.0

Murat

Betreff: USB mouse not recognized till after gpm starts

I've got a Del Optiplex GX260 with a USB mouse. When I boot up, gpm
starts before the USB mouse driver stuff kicks in, therefore gpm doesn't
see the mouse. After I get logged in, I can then run "/etc/init.d/gpm
restart" and the mouse works just fine.

How do I go about getting the mouse driver working before gpm starts? Is
it just a matter of re-ordering the gpm script in /etc/rc2.d, or is
there a more "proper" way, or what?

Thanks!
